The dehydrated man

Finally Friday.   The weekend beckons, yet with how busy it's been at work it's basically like taking a man who's been stuck in the desert without water for a week, and then dunking him in a lake; only to pull him back out again before he can drink a drop.   I've made more preparations for my trip in September,  Notably purchasing an awesome camera bag which will also serve to keep my camp stove and fuel safe.  I picked up a Sony A230 for around $200 from Henry's it will be my picture taker.  It's an entry level digital SLR camera and it takes beautiful pictures.  The camera is easy to use, and quite powerful once you start experimenting.  I haven't played with photography much lately but it's starting to vaguely come back to me.  Now if only extra lenses weren't more expensive than the camera!

Into the great beyond... or something like that

For starters it looks like I'm going to be using this space to talk about my upcoming 'adventure' to the northern shores of Lake Superior.  It's been 10 years since I was last there,  and the place has called me back for every one of them.  There is a rugged beauty and many legends surrounding the lake.. some truth, and some myth.  I say myth because usually 'mysterious happenings' have some sort of basis in fact.  For now, I've collected the basics of the gear I'm going to need to go on this journey.  I must say I'm quite a bit out of shape compared to 10 years ago, so I won't be going crazy.  A simple car camping expedition to take some good pictures and collect some stories about the area, and the happenings there.  This all will be used to help fuel my need to write creatively and hopefully re-ignite the flame of idea within me!  Hence, the name of this blog.
